Closer to the project

The topic of school violence is of constant concern and concern for both teachers and students, parents and the general public. Violence knows no borders and is present in all countries across Europe and the world. If violence becomes part of a child's daily routine at school, it can be adopted as a way of life, and values associated with violence as personal and social.
Our school for years has been developing and implementing a plan and program for protecting students from violence, which includes a package of activities, measures and mechanisms for all interest groups: teachers, dr. school staff, students and parents. Their continued implementation, each school year, has enabled us to establish and maintain, above all, preventative mechanisms in an efficient and effective manner, but also to respond and intervene in the face of violence in a school context.
The commitment of teachers and administration to prevention and intervention and our view that zero tolerance of violence at school has contributed to improving the school climate, low rates of violent situations, creating a safe and secure environment for student growth and development. These are precisely our values that are recognized by our current and future students and their parents.
Based on our experience in this area, we want to further learn and share good practice with other schools and colleagues and improve our competencies in this area. Unfortunately, this cannot be done locally, regionally and nationally, as the topic of school violence is still a taboo topic. Although we hear daily from the media about cases of violence in schools across Serbia, schools do not want to talk openly about the topic and share their experiences and practices, and often minimize or fail to recognize violent situations. The dominant opinion is that the story of violence destroys the reputation and rating of the school.
Due to this situation, our partners will be schools from other countries that are ready to share experience, knowledge and skills in this field and ready for further learning. We are aware that, in spite of our good practice, we should improve our competences to create a tolerant environment in which diversity will be respected. We also want to improve our competencies for the use of new ICT tools to protect students from violence as the availability and use of modern technology by students and their parents is increasing. New digital prevention and intervention mechanisms are likely to be used more in the future. That is why we want to learn from partners and to create jointly an online good practice practicum and a forum or blog or site (we expect partners to suggest us the best solution that can survive after the end of the project without money), which will be the mechanism after the end of the project. support for schools, but also support for students and parents.
The target group of our project is teachers, because in the school context they are most responsible for the implementation of prevention, but also timely and adequate interventions in cases of violence. Those who will be involved in learning and training activities will transfer their advanced competencies to other teachers, but will apply them in working with students and their parents.

For our schools, the project is innovative because we address this issue at the transnational level, expand and share our good practice, but also learn from each other, develop initiatives, take a proactive stance, broaden our understanding and respect EU values.
We selected project partners on the e-Twinning portal, those who wanted and who needed to deal with this topic - two schools from Turkey and Bulgaria.
They will present their best practices - ways and mechanisms of prevention and intervention in school contexts, how to motivate students to create a tolerant environment and respect for diversity, but also their knowledge and skills of using ICT tools to protect students from violence. Also, their digital competencies and digital resources will be a great help in creating an online practicum and forum, blog or website to further support all institutions involved in the project in the field of school violence prevention, as well as support for teachers, students and parents.
